Programme Overview
The University of Queensland Master of Environmental Management develops the scientific, analytical and strategic skills required to address complex environmental and sustainability problems.
Students examine ecosystem management, climate change, pollution, environmental regulation, natural-resource management and sustainable transitions.
Study can be tailored through subjects including conservation biology, environmental-impact assessment, coastal management and regulatory frameworks.
Students can gain practical experience through research projects, field and laboratory learning, industry placements and international opportunities.
The programme is suitable both for graduates already working in environmental fields and for students transitioning into environmental management and sustainability careers.
Entry Requirements
The programme offers 1.5-year and 2-year entry routes depending on previous qualifications.
For the 2-year route, applicants normally require:
A recognised Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Or an eligible graduate certificate or graduate diploma in environmental management
A minimum GPA equivalent to 4.5 on UQ's 7-point scale
Applicants with relevant previous environmental study may qualify for the shorter 1.5-year route.
