Programme Overview
The University of Oxford MSc in Energy Systems is an interdisciplinary taught programme focused on understanding and developing solutions for modern energy systems.
The curriculum examines energy through three core themes: Resources, Systems and Services. Students explore the production and supply of energy together with the technical, economic, societal and policy considerations that influence energy systems.
Teaching combines intensive taught modules, a small-group case study project, a whole-cohort exercise, engagement with industrial and other relevant stakeholders, and an individual dissertation.
The programme is designed for students with strong quantitative backgrounds who want to develop technical and interdisciplinary expertise for the global energy sector and energy transition.
