Job Description
Support Boeing’s 787 Materials and Processes team by defining requirements for finishes and corrosion protection. The engineer qualifies coatings, sealants, surface treatments and suppliers while investigating material or process failures.
Responsibilities
• Define requirements for paints, coatings, finishes and sealants.
• Plan material and supplier qualification activities.
• Conduct performance and failure analysis.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Support production-readiness activities.
• Maintain specifications, qualification reports and technical records.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
• Incorporate safety, Lean and quality requirements.
Eligibility
• Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
• At least two years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with paints, coatings, finishes, sealants or related chemical technology.
• Meet applicable U.S. work and export-control requirements.
• Ability to travel up to approximately 20%.
