Job Description
The Associate Wiring Design and Installation Engineer will join Boeing’s Seat Wire Integration Electrical Design organisation. The engineer will develop cable-routing, harness-assembly and installation designs for 787 seating and interior systems. The position requires balancing electrical safety, physical separation, manufacturing, environmental and aircraft-integration requirements.
Responsibilities
• Develop electrical cable and wire-harness detail designs.
• Create assembly and installation definitions for aircraft interiors.
• Define cable routing, geometry, supports and mounting brackets.
• Maintain electrical separation for physical and functional safety.
• Select suitable parts for environmental and aircraft requirements.
• Analyse production discrepancies and develop engineering dispositions.
• Work with factory and quality teams to resolve build issues.
• Improve documented electrical-design and manufacturing processes.
• Develop basic statements of work and support supplier reviews.
• Participate in functional, physical and critical design reviews.
Eligibility
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another directly relevant technical discipline.
• At least two years of wire-harness, electrical or mechanical-design experience.
• Ability to work completely on-site in North Charleston.
• Ability to meet United States export-control requirements.
