Job Description

The Data Lake Software Engineer supports Lockheed Martin’s Ground Data Lake team for the Orion programme. The position develops and operates secure, scalable software that processes spacecraft telemetry for Artemis 3, Artemis 4, Artemis 5 and future NASA missions. Work primarily covers backend and infrastructure development, with occasional command-line, graphical and web application development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ground Data Lake software.
• Build backend services and data-processing workflows.
• Process and analyse Orion spacecraft telemetry.
• Develop command-line, GUI and web-based engineering tools.
• Support software deployment and operational troubleshooting.
• Follow Orion software-development processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with ground-data, infrastructure and mission teams.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field.
• Software-development experience or equivalent academic project experience.
• Ability to meet programme access and security requirements.
• Understanding of backend development and data systems.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary aerospace programme.
