Job Description
This senior Materials and Processes position supports Boeing 787 wing and empennage structures. The engineer selects and qualifies corrosion-protection materials, investigates failures and ensures coating and finishing processes meet production, regulatory and supplier requirements.
Responsibilities
• Define corrosion-protection material and process requirements.
• Lead qualification of paints, coatings, sealants and surface treatments.
• Review aerospace engineering designs and specifications.
• Support production and supplier manufacturing processes.
• Investigate material and coating failures.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage qualification testing and audits.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers.
Eligibility
• Relevant Bachelor of Science degree.
• At least five years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• At least two years working with coatings, finishes, sealants or chemical technology.
• Meet U.S. Person export-control requirements.
• Ability to work on-site and travel when required.
