Job Description
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an experienced or senior engineer for its Boeing 787 Flight Controls Mechanical Hydraulics team. Depending on assignment, the engineer may work on primary flight controls, high-lift systems, flight-control electronics, hydraulics, landing-gear actuation, steering or brake-control systems.
The position involves system design, analysis, requirements development, integration and technical problem-solving throughout the aircraft lifecycle. It requires coordination with avionics, software, manufacturing, airplane safety, suppliers and regulatory organisations.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain flight-control system requirements and designs.
• Analyse flight-control electronics, hydraulic and actuation-system performance.
• Support primary controls, high-lift, steering or brake-control subsystems.
• Investigate system faults and develop technically compliant solutions.
• Coordinate system interfaces with avionics, software and aircraft structures.
• Support verification, certification and regulatory-compliance activities.
• Produce and review engineering documentation and technical data.
Eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is required.
• Relevant flight-controls, hydraulic-systems or aircraft-systems engineering experience is required.
• Must satisfy United States export-control requirements as a U.S. Person.
• Must be able to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Must satisfy Boeing’s employment and drug-free workplace requirements.
