Job Description

The data scientist develops Fuse’s internal simulation stack for dense-plasma-focus and pulsed-power experiments. Models cover electrical circuits, plasma formation, instability development and neutron and X-ray production.

Responsibilities

• Build coupled pulsed-power and plasma simulation frameworks.
• Model plasma formation, pinch behaviour and instabilities.
• Predict neutron and X-ray production.
• Develop inference tools for experimental shot data.
• Compare simulations with measured facility data.
• Improve model accuracy and computational performance.

Eligibility

• Relevant physics, engineering, applied mathematics or computer-science background.
• Experience developing scientific simulations.
• Strong data-analysis and scientific-programming skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Leandro.
• Ability to satisfy US export-control requirements.
