Job Description

Develop, implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling and standardised work for GM rechargeable energy-storage systems. The engineer supports battery-module and pack manufacturing from early concepts and prototype builds through equipment installation, validation, production launch and steady-state manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes for battery modules and packs.
• Specify production equipment, tooling and process requirements.
• Support prototype builds and advanced propulsion product launches.
• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning and validation.
• Develop standardised work and process documentation.
• Analyse manufacturing data and resolve production constraints.
• Improve process safety, quality, efficiency and material utilisation.
• Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, quality and equipment suppliers.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
• Relevant manufacturing, process-engineering or production-launch experience.
• Experience developing or improving equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work onsite at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck facility.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.
• Must possess US work authorisation without present or future GM immigration sponsorship.
