Job Description

The Quality Assembly Mechanic performs nondestructive testing of aerospace parts and assemblies. The technician uses magnetic-particle and fluorescent dye-penetrant methods to identify surface and near-surface defects while following approved engineering and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts and inspection equipment for nondestructive testing.
• Conduct magnetic-particle inspections.
• Perform fluorescent dye-penetrant inspections.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and inspection instructions.
• Evaluate indications against acceptance criteria.
• Record and report inspection results.
• Maintain inspection equipment and process controls.
• Follow applicable safety, quality and union requirements.

Eligibility

• High-school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 32 documented hours of formal NDT training, including 16 hours of magnetic-particle and 16 hours of dye-penetrant training.
• At least one year of magnetic-particle and fluorescent dye-penetrant NDT experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
