Job Description
The engineer develops chassis steering hardware and mechatronic systems from initial concept through validation, production release and final vehicle sign-off.
Responsibilities
Design steering hardware and mechatronic systems.
Develop steering columns, intermediate shafts, EPAS gears and tie rods.
Create DFMEAs, validation plans and engineering specifications.
Perform chassis packaging, CAD release and virtual-build activities.
Evaluate designs using CAE and physical validation.
Coordinate development with safety, controls, vehicle dynamics and suppliers.
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
Approximately five or more years of relevant chassis-steering development experience preferred.
Experience with CAD, CAE, DFMEA and component-validation processes.
Understanding of steering-system testing at component and vehicle levels.
