Job Description
Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking a senior electrical materials and process engineer to support avionics design and manufacturing teams. The engineer will provide technical leadership across the complete avionics-product lifecycle.
The position covers printed wiring boards, circuit-card assemblies, electrical components, cable assemblies, soldering, coatings, adhesives, contamination control, electrostatic-discharge protection and supplier qualification.
Responsibilities
• Lead the Electrical Materials and Process engineering team.
• Support avionics design and manufacturing organisations.
• Develop material and process plans, specifications and qualification reports.
• Select coatings, solder, adhesives, cleaning materials and related processes.
• Qualify PCB, PWB and circuit-card assembly suppliers.
• Conduct failure analysis and root-cause corrective action.
• Review electrical materials and assemblies through material-review boards.
• Represent Boeing on relevant IPC standards committees.
Eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification is required.
• Requires substantial electrical materials and process experience.
• Requires at least 15 years of PCB, assembly and interconnect-packaging experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain required security clearances.
• Travel of approximately 10%–40% may be required.
