$23 – $37 per hour

Official starting rate is USD 22.52 per hour, with potential progression to USD 37.40 per hour under the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Description

The Entry-Level Composite Mechanic manufactures bonded and composite components for Spirit Defense programmes. The mechanic works with graphite, Kevlar, fibreglass and epoxy-resin systems and supports wet layup, vacuum bagging, sanding and preparation of complex aerospace parts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare composite materials and tooling.
• Perform wet layup of composite components.
• Bag complex parts for curing.
• Work with graphite, Kevlar, fibreglass and epoxy resin.
• Sand and finish composite surfaces.
• Use hand tools safely and accurately.
• Follow engineering work instructions and process controls.
• Inspect completed work for visible defects.

Eligibility

• Active US Secret security clearance.
• US citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Programme Access.
• Ability to work any shift or alternative workweek.
• Willingness to work second shift, where most new hires are expected to be assigned.
