Programme Overview
This MSc combines advanced mechanical engineering with specialist aerospace study.
Students develop advanced engineering analysis, research and professional skills while selecting aerospace-focused modules.
Study can include atmospheric flight dynamics and control, lightweight structures, supersonic aerodynamics, mechanics, propulsion and aerospace-related research.
The programme also develops professional skills in areas such as project management and risk analysis.
Students complete an individual MSc project that may be industry-themed or aligned with Strathclyde aerospace research.
Entry Requirements
Normally a first-class or second-class honours degree, or international equivalent, in engineering, physical sciences or a closely related discipline.
Applicants should have strong mathematical and mechanical-engineering preparation.

Equivalent approved English-language qualifications may also be accepted.

Scholarship Information
Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship: £6,000 for eligible September 2026 international Master's students. Dean's International Excellence Awards: £9,000 to £12,000 for selected exceptional applicants. Other external and University funding may also be available.
