Programme Overview

The University of Strathclyde Aerospace Engineering MSc provides advanced multidisciplinary education for the modern aerospace and space sectors.

Students develop expertise in spacecraft design, space mission analysis, propulsion systems, flight dynamics and other advanced aerospace topics.

The curriculum also incorporates artificial intelligence, sustainability and engineering management to reflect emerging requirements across aerospace industries.

Students combine taught aerospace modules with interdisciplinary electives and an individual research project.

Projects may be connected with aerospace companies, space-sector organisations or research undertaken within Strathclyde's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department.

Entry Requirements

Applicants normally require a first-class or second-class honours degree, or equivalent international qualification, in aerospace engineering, engineering, physical sciences or another suitably related discipline.

Applicants should have sufficient mathematical, scientific and engineering preparation for advanced aerospace study.

Relevant professional experience may also be considered where appropriate.

Equivalent Strathclyde-approved English-language qualifications may also be accepted.

Scholarship Information

Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship for Masters Study Eligible international postgraduate taught applicants starting in September 2026 receive a £6,000 scholarship. Dean's International Excellence Awards A limited number of awards worth between £9,000 and £12,000 are available to exceptional Faculty of Engineering Master's applicants. Additional university and external scholarships may also be available.
