Job Description
The Major Correctives Technical Specialist develops, implements and evaluates technical training and field-capability programmes for North American teams conducting major wind-turbine component upgrades and blade repairs.
The specialist helps ensure that technicians possess the technical knowledge, practical ability and execution readiness needed to perform complex corrective work safely, consistently and according to approved quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Develop training content for wind-turbine component upgrades and blade repairs.
• Create technical guides, practical exercises, assessments and qualification materials.
• Translate technical procedures and field lessons into structured learning programmes.
• Deliver classroom instruction, field coaching, demonstrations and simulations.
• Support onboarding and upskilling of wind-service technicians.
• Coordinate training for new tools, repair methods, retrofits and turbine platforms.
• Evaluate technician capabilities through practical assessments and field observation.
• Identify technical skill gaps and workforce-readiness risks.
• Maintain qualification records and consistent assessment criteria.
• Incorporate safety findings, quality trends and field feedback into training.
• Standardize technical practices across wind-service teams.
• Work with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality and workforce-planning teams.
Eligibility
• High-school diploma or GED.
• At least seven years of experience in wind services, turbine maintenance, technical field operations, major-component work, blade repair or related industrial services.
• Strong technical understanding of wind-turbine corrective operations.
• Ability to develop or deliver practical technical instruction.
• Ability to assess field-worker technical capability and readiness.
• Valid driving licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to field sites across North America.
• Ability to meet GE Vernova’s pre-employment requirements.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
