Job Description

The Materials Engineer works in the Chemistry and Materials team supporting nuclear plant and fuel programmes. The role develops material technology, evaluates material behaviour and performs engineering analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support BWR plant and nuclear-fuel materials deliverables.
• Develop new nuclear-material technologies.
• Plan and execute material-property test programmes.
• Characterise material behaviour.
• Perform plant and fuel design analyses.
• Prepare technical calculations and reports.
• Coordinate with nuclear engineering and fuel teams.

Eligibility

• Relevant materials, metallurgical, mechanical, nuclear or chemical engineering education.
• Ability to analyse material properties and behaviour.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines in a regulated environment.
• Availability to start in May 2027.
• Ability to satisfy nuclear export-control requirements where applicable.
