Job Description

The team leader supports the nuclear-fuel facility’s radiation-safety function, supervises radiation-protection technicians and ensures work complies with regulatory, security and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead radiation-protection technicians.
• Provide technical radiation-safety support.
• Monitor occupational exposure and controlled areas.
• Maintain radiation surveys, records and procedures.
• Support radioactive-material and contamination controls.
• Investigate radiation-protection issues.
• Promote nuclear safety, security and quality culture.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with two years of applied radiation-protection experience; or high school diploma with five years of relevant experience.
• Nuclear-facility radiation-protection experience.
• Willingness to obtain Certified Health Physicist certification within five years if not already certified.
• Ability to meet nuclear security and facility-access requirements.
