Programme Overview
The Advanced Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence MSc develops specialist expertise in modern AI technologies.
Students study intelligent agents, reinforcement learning, neural networks, deep learning, AI methodologies and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence.
Practical work uses modern AI frameworks and software environments.
Students learn to design, optimise and evaluate AI systems for real-world applications.
The course concludes with an in-depth research project and includes engagement with technology employers.
Entry Requirements
Minimum second-class 2:2 honours degree or international equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
Significant programming experience is required, preferably in an imperative programming language such as Java or Python.
Applicants from other disciplines with substantial programming experience may be considered.
English-Language Requirements
IELTS Academic:
6.0 overall
Minimum 5.5 in each component
Equivalent Strathclyde-approved English tests may also be accepted.

Scholarship Information
Faculty of Science International Excellence Scholarship: £7,000 to £8,000 for eligible September 2026 postgraduate taught Master's applicants. Other University and external technology scholarships may also be available.
