Programme Overview
This MSc combines advanced mechanical engineering with specialist materials science.
Students examine industrial metallurgy, engineering composites, manufacturing materials and the role of materials in advanced engineering systems.
The programme develops mechanical-analysis skills alongside understanding of material selection, processing and performance.
Professional engineering skills including project management and risk analysis are also developed.
Students complete a materials-focused individual MSc project.
Entry Requirements
Normally a first-class or second-class honours degree, or international equivalent, in engineering, materials science or physical sciences.

Eligible international Engineering Master's applicants can receive the £6,000 Faculty scholarship. Exceptional students may be considered for Dean's International Excellence Awards worth £9,000 to £12,000.
