Programme Overview
The BEng Electrical & Mechanical Engineering programme combines electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software and control systems.
Students develop expertise in mechanical systems, electronics, electrical power, computing and control.
Applications include automotive electronic systems, renewable energy, robotics, aerospace sensor and control systems, satellites and electric propulsion.
Students can participate in Formula Student and other practical engineering activities.
The programme is professionally accredited by both the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Entry Requirements
Applicants require strong preparation in Mathematics and Physics or Engineering Science.
Typical offers are based on A Levels, Scottish Highers, International Baccalaureate or an equivalent international secondary-school qualification.
Advanced entry may be available to applicants with suitable engineering qualifications.

Faculty of Engineering International Scholarship Eligible self-funded international non-EU undergraduate students beginning in September 2026 receive a 15% tuition-fee reduction. Students may also have access to industry-supported scholarship programmes and paid work-placement opportunities.
