Programme Overview
UCL's Manufacturing with Innovation and Enterprise MSc is an interdisciplinary programme delivered by UCL Mechanical Engineering and the UCL School of Management.
The programme combines advanced manufacturing engineering with innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialisation. Students develop technical knowledge in advanced materials characterisation, nanoengineering, manufacturing technologies and engineering modelling while also studying entrepreneurial finance and enterprise.
Students undertake both an Innovation Group Design Project and an Individual Research Project. Optional study areas include advanced computer applications in engineering, material design for manufacturing, precision manufacturing and sustainability analysis of engineering systems.
The programme is designed to prepare graduates to develop, manufacture and commercialise innovative engineering products and technologies.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally hold at least an upper second-class Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a UK university or an equivalent overseas qualification.
Relevant academic backgrounds may include engineering disciplines, physics or applied mathematics.
Applicants should demonstrate suitable technical and quantitative preparation together with an interest in advanced manufacturing, innovation and enterprise.
International qualifications are assessed according to UCL's published country-specific equivalencies.

Scholarship Information
UCL offers several funding opportunities for eligible Master's students. UCL East London Scholarship For eligible students from east London studying qualifying UCL East Master's programmes, including this MSc. For the 2026 cycle, the scholarship provides full tuition fees plus a £17,096 stipend. The published deadline for the 2026 cycle was 25 June 2026.
