Programme Overview
The EPFL-ETH Zurich Master's in Cyber Security provides advanced postgraduate training in the protection of modern computer and communication systems.
Students study cryptography, systems and network security, hardware protection, formal methods and other core cyber-security topics.
The joint programme combines the research and teaching strengths of EPFL and ETH Zurich.
Students based at EPFL complete part of their coursework at ETH Zurich, undertake a compulsory industrial internship and complete a Master's project focused on cyber security.
The degree totals 120 ECTS.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold a recognised Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communication Systems or another closely related technical discipline.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent academic performance and strong preparation in computer science and mathematics.
Applications are reviewed holistically based on academic record, previous university, subject preparation, statement of purpose and recommendation letters.

English-Language Requirements
The programme is taught entirely in English.
Candidates must have strong English-language skills.
EPFL states that English-language certificates such as TOEFL or IELTS are welcome but are not mandatory for this programme.

Research Scholars MSc Programme Financial support may also be available through research-oriented opportunities within EPFL's School of Computer and Communication Sciences. Research Assistantships Students may arrange paid research assistantships directly with laboratories where positions are available. Funding is competitive and is not automatically provided with admission.
