Programme Overview
The University of Strathclyde Nanoscience MSc provides interdisciplinary postgraduate education connecting physics, chemistry and nanoscale materials.
Students develop understanding of the behaviour and applications of matter at nanometre scales.
The programme provides training in modern nanoscience research techniques and advanced experimental methods.
Students gain skills relevant to nanoscale materials, electronic technologies, advanced characterisation and interdisciplinary scientific research.
The MSc includes advanced taught study followed by an individual research project.

Chemistry
Engineering Physics
Another closely related subject
Engineering applicants should have sufficient undergraduate preparation in fundamental physics, including quantum mechanics and electromagnetism.

Scholarship Information
Faculty of Science International Master's Scholarship for Physics Eligible international students beginning in September 2026 may receive a £7,000 scholarship. Additional University scholarships may also be available.
