Programme Overview

Space Systems Engineering MSc develops expertise in the design and integration of complete spacecraft and space systems.

Students examine how spacecraft subsystems function individually and interact within an overall mission architecture.

The programme includes practical individual and group design projects and a research project.

It is developed by Southampton’s Astronautics Research Group and endorsed by the UK Space Agency, with content connected to professional courses delivered for ESA and the spacecraft industry.

Entry Requirements

Typical academic entry is a UK 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent in engineering, physics, mathematics or another relevant quantitative discipline.

Applicants should demonstrate appropriate mathematical and technical preparation for spacecraft systems, mechanics, control, electronics or related subjects.
